BD Manager Job Description

To grow the business, we are seeking an ambitious and customer focussed Business Development Manager.

Purpose of Position

  • Generate growth across all company product sectors, both in the GCC and globally.
  • Build relationships with strategic partners such as OEMs, end user organisations and potential channel partners.
  • Manage a portfolio of business opportunities, ensuring they are appropriately resourced and governed, meeting agreed annual orders targets.
  • Manage senior stakeholder engagements (customer and industry)
  • Steer the future direction of the business, particularly around areas of technology investment in accordance with the market/customer demands
  • Provide leadership and guidance to campaign teams

Responsibilities

  • Delivering against agreed annual orders targets and managing the orders forecast
  • Planning and managing agreed investment within budget
  • Managing senior level stakeholder engagements, responsible for hosting visits, office calls, formal functions, etc
  • Ensuring rigorous development of win strategies for campaigns
  • Work with Bid Managers and Operations staff in making decisions regarding the progress of Prospects, and support Tenders as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of client’s intentions, programmes and budgets to assist in the Company’s forward planning

Education / Experience

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, recognised ability to develop rapport
  • Excellent written and oral communication ability
  • Deep domain knowledge in military / police armoured vehicles
  • Deep knowledge of customer community (user, sponsor and procurement)
  • Ability to interact with desk officers through to senior customers (2* and above)
  • Track record of leading and delivering successful bids
  • Business acumen, ability to shape a business solution, with a good working commercial, financial and project management knowledge
  • Degree level education.

Education / Experience

  • UAE with regular global travel expected
